ATPI offsets footprint of the Business Travel People awards for third year running

We’re pleased to announce that for the third consecutive year we have measured and offset the carbon footprint of the Business Travel People Awards, covering all attendee air, car and rail travel as well as food, beverage and staffing. For 2025, the total calculated emissions were 1.862 tCO₂e.

Our sustainability platform, ATPI Halo, led by Product Director Pippa Strasser‑Ganderton, enabled detailed capture of travel modes, distances and additional meetings attended, allowing us to compute the event’s footprint with accuracy.

We have selected the Ntakata REDD+ Project in Tanzania as the offset investment this year. The project protects 216,000 hectares of rainforest, prevents deforestation, safeguards endangered species and supports communities through improved healthcare, education, job creation and sustainable farming practices.

On a recent site visit, Pippa commented: “After three days hiking in the protected rainforest with specialist rangers and guides we were rewarded with seeing a group of about 30 chimpanzees, sitting amongst them, observing their habits and routines. These are the most special moments that remind us why we have to protect our planet.”

By offsetting this year’s Awards event footprint through the Ntakata project, ATPI continues to deliver on our measurement-reduce-compensate approach, turning our sustainability commitments into tangible action. We remain committed to supporting responsible travel and events, and empowering our clients to do the same.
