Powering Professional Women’s Soccer: How ATPI Supports the Northern Super League

The launch of the Northern Super League marked an important milestone for women’s professional sport in Canada. With six clubs spread across the country, from Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, to Halifax, the league’s first season required a travel framework capable of supporting athletes from coast to coast.

ATPI Sports Travel played a key role behind the scenes. We spoke with Jordyn Bayly-Jones, Head of Operations at ATPI Canada, about how her team supported Northern Super League Travel logistics and helped bring the league’s inaugural season to life.

Building a complete travel framework, fast

ATPI joined the league just weeks before kickoff, with newly formed clubs and no existing travel structure. “Each club was essentially its own independent organization,” Jordyn explains. “Different contracts, different needs, different budgets. We had to build the foundation for each team at the same time as we were building the league-wide travel framework.” Within a month, ATPI sourced hotels, secured flight routes, coordinated meals, and established communication systems that would support all six clubs throughout the season.

Designing smart logistics for a national league

Managing 80 matches across six cities is a significant operational task. Teams travel thousands of kilometers each month, often during peak travel periods, all while managing athletes’ needs and shifting lineups. “Coordinating transportation and accommodation for a national league of this scale is complex,” says Jordyn. “It goes beyond making bookings, it’s about building travel itineraries that support athlete performance, stay within budget, and adapt to the demands of high-performance sport.” Key challenges included aligning newly formed clubs with consistent travel standards, securing availability across multiple markets, coordinating nutritional requirements, designing efficient travel routes, and adapting quickly to roster and schedule changes. “What made it work was staying closely connected to every team,” Jordyn adds. “We developed tailored solutions for each club, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach for the league.”

Tools and collaboration that kept everyone moving

To reduce complexity, ATPI built a centralized platform for all travel information, approvals, and updates. “Centralizing information was essential,” Jordyn explains. “It streamlined communication, reduced errors, and gave teams full visibility.” This streamlined digital approach, supported by close collaboration with hotels, airlines, and suppliers, helped ATPI manage the challenges of a first season, from last-minute changes to regional travel constraints. “Our job was to keep everyone moving smoothly, even when details were still evolving,” Jordyn says. “Flexibility and communication were key.”

Season-one feedback: a strong start

Feedback from clubs and league organizers was overwhelmingly positive. “The league thrived, the teams thrived, and they felt supported at every step,” Jordyn says. “Removing the logistical burden allowed them to focus fully on performance rather than planning.” ATPI is already applying those learnings, as preparations already begin for the 2026 season.

Looking ahead

As travel operations continue and preparations for the next season get underway, ATPI remains focused on strengthening the travel ecosystem supporting Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league. “Our operational model allows us to plan, execute, and review in parallel,” Jordyn says. “It keeps us ready for anything, and that’s exactly what this league needs.”
