ATPI Sports Travel Renews Global Partnership with the Clipper Race for the 2025–26 Edition
Delivering seamless travel support for the world’s most unique ocean challenge.
ATPI Sports Travel has renewed its long-standing partnership with the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, returning as the Official Travel Partner for the 2025–26 edition of the globally renowned adventure. The partnership underscores ATPI’s continued role in managing the complex logistics required for one of the most challenging and unique sporting events on the planet.
Founded in 1995 by legendary sailor Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the Clipper Race is the only event of its kind that trains ordinary people from all walks of life to become ocean racers. After completing four intensive stages of training, participants can choose to race one or more legs or the full 40,000-nautical-mile circumnavigation of the globe. The race takes place over 11 months and consists of 8 legs split into 14 stages, with the fleet of Clipper 70 ocean-racing yachts crossing six oceans, including the formidable North Pacific.
The 2025–26 edition will visit 14 ports across six continents. Confirmed stopovers include Portsmouth (UK), Cape Town (South Africa), Qingdao (China), Tongyeong City (South Korea), Seattle (USA), and Oban (Scotland), with more destinations to be announced. The race attracts participants from over 42 nationalities, with a diverse mix of crew and supporters requiring global-scale travel coordination.
Delivering a race of this magnitude involves far more than sailing. With professional staff, race officials, and crew support teams constantly moving between continents and weather or timing often triggering last-minute changes expert travel management becomes a critical operational component.
ATPI’s global team acts as an embedded extension of the Clipper Race operations, ensuring Clipper Race Crew and staff are in the right place at the right time, every time. From complex itineraries to last-minute bookings, the ability to respond rapidly to shifting conditions has made ATPI a trusted logistics partner across multiple race editions.
Catherine Udy, Operations and Logistics Manager at Clipper Ventures, commented:
ATPI is a vital partner in helping us deliver the Clipper Race. The 24/7 support and ability to handle time-critical travel logistics make them essential for successfully organising the Clipper Race.
The matched fleet of ten yachts is led by two professional sailors, a Skipper and a First Mate and the wider race relies on a large support team behind the scenes. As with previous editions, ATPI will coordinate crew and operational travel across all stopovers and ensure seamless support as the race unfolds.
Adam Knights, Regional Managing Director, UK, Europe & Middle East, ATPI, added:
We’re proud to continue our partnership with the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race – an event that mirrors the resilience, precision and global coordination that define ATPI. Supporting such a logistically complex and inspiring race is a true demonstration of our expertise in sports travel, and we’re excited to once again play a part in helping crews and organisers navigate the world. Our role is to remove the stress from travel, so that those taking part can focus entirely on performance and experience.
Adventure, heritage and people remain central to the Clipper Race’s brand identity. With preparations for the next edition of the race in full swing, ATPI and the Clipper Race are once again aligned in delivering the logistical foundations of an extraordinary global voyage.
