In a significant move towards more sustainable practices in corporate aviation, leading global travel management and events specialists, ATPI Group, announces its partnership with industry trailblazer, Neste, the world’s leading provider of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

The new partnership will expand the Group’s pioneering carbon measurement, reduction and compensation proposition, ATPI Halo, by allowing clients to invest in SAF and address the pressing need for greater environmental responsibility in air travel. Forming part of ATPI Halo’s ‘reduce’ solution, clients are able to purchase in-sector travel emission reductions and obtain a single certificate for their investment, rather than managing this administration across multiple carriers and sources.

For over a decade, Neste has been at the forefront of SAF production, providing aviation fuel derived from 100% renewable and sustainable sources to airlines and airports around the globe. The new collaboration underscores the shared commitment of both companies in driving measurable impact for clients, while aiding the sector in achieving carbon neutral targets.

Pippa Ganderton, Product Director of ATPI Halo, said: “As global air passenger numbers are expected to double by 2040, the aviation industry faces a critical challenge in reducing emissions dramatically. Despite research into various alternative propulsion technologies, the aviation industry still relies heavily on liquid jet fuel, predominantly sourced from fossil fuels.

“SAF, on the other hand, presents a more sustainable alternative, with the potential to slash greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle compared to conventional fossil jet fuels, as well as contributing to around 65% of the emission reductions required to achieve net-zero. This is a huge step in the right direction, and our partnership with Neste marks a significant milestone in the journey towards sustainable aviation for the business travel industry.”

Susanne Bouma, Head of Programs and Partnerships from the Renewable Aviation business at Neste, said: “We are excited to be working together with ATPI as a global corporate travel management company. Our partnership broadens the opportunities for businesses to reduce the carbon footprint of their air travel by using our Neste Impact solution. Partnerships like these, will also support the acceleration of SAF usage which is a key lever to get aviation to net-zero emissions by 2050.”

The news comes following the ATPI Group’s recent appointment of its first global Sustainability Officer, Louisa Toure. Louisa is responsible for spearheading the company’s internal sustainability initiatives and developing integral ESG strategies across the entire global business.

Additionally, The ATPI Group was recently awarded a Silver EcoVadis Medal for the second year running – the world’s largest and most trusted provider of sustainability ratings. ATPI has been independently recognised as a top sustainability performer across over 125,000 assessed global companies.
