ATPI partners with Virgin Atlantic and Delta Airlines to launch two innovative spaces in Lowestoft office
Leading global travel and events management company ATPI has opened two new learning and training rooms at its Lowestoft office on 2nd October 2025.
The Virgin Hub and Delta Innovation Lab have been opened in partnership with Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines, both of which are key partners of the TMC (Travel Management Company). The aircraft-inspired rooms will provide spaces internally for training, team meetings, inductions, strategic workshops and to host their upcoming Trainee Programme in October.
As a large employer in the area, employing over 150 people, ATPI Lowestoft is investing heavily in the next generation of business travel professionals. For this reason, the rooms will also host students from East Coast College’s Travel and Tourism course twice a year for a training and educational opportunity as part of their business travel module. During this time they will have an introduction to ATPI and business travel and see how the business operates.
These new rooms build on ATPI’s recent investment in the local area, including a new Trainee Programme, which will train 6 successful applicants at ATPI’s Lowestoft office this month. The programme is designed to provide locals with the support and experience needed to build their careers in the travel management industry and generate further opportunities in Lowestoft.
Both rooms take design inspiration from the aircraft used by Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines. The Virgin Hub is designed like an aircraft cabin, complete with aircraft windows along the walls so users feel they’re up in the sky. The room takes inspiration from the training spaces used by Virgin Atlantic itself, bringing this innovative design to Lowestoft.
Similarly, the Delta Innovation Lab features a prominent cockpit wall graphic and a view from an aircraft window, bringing aviation-inspired design to the office. The rooms incorporate immersive design, aiming to make meetings, workshops or training sessions feel inspiring and energising.
Amanda Killick, Head of HR and Talent for ATPI, says: “I’ve worked in travel for many years, formerly even at Virgin Atlantic, so it was important to me to bring to life the excitement of the travel industry in these rooms – and I think we did just that! These new spaces will support our training and recruitment focus as a business, giving us a space that excites and fosters creativity. One of our priorities is nurturing talent internally and in the local area, and to do that in collaboration with two of our key partners is fantastic. It’s clear that there’s talent and passion in the area, so it’s important to nurture it in the right way. Through our upcoming Trainee Programme, and collaboration with East Coast College, we hope to bring in the next generation to the exciting world of business travel and the many job opportunities.”
Dean Mitchell, Supplier Relations Manager for ATPI, says: “We have a longstanding relationship with Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines, so when the opportunity to revitalise our training room arose, I couldn’t think of better partners to work with. Their creativity and unique approach set them apart in the airline industry, and I’m confident that these refreshed spaces will inspire the next generation of travel managers.”
Paul Webb, Senior Account Manager at Delta Air Lines says: “This exciting new venture highlights the strength of our relationship with ATPI and the positive impact we can make through working together. At Delta, we are committed to connecting people and driving responsible progress, and partnering with ATPI allows us to align our values with tangible action, meaning that our work not only improves standards in business travel but also helps to support the Lowestoft community. Together, we are building a platform that drives innovation and supports growth in the local area.”
