Ongoing technology and people investments see ATPI Griffinstone look ahead to centenary year
New technology investments, team expansion and a roster of new clients were the key themes for global marine and energy travel business, ATPI Griffinstone in 2018. The successful year sets the foundations for a series of special events throughout 2019, the 100th year of operation for ATPI Griffinstone.
Key new technology developments delivered by ATPI Griffinstone over the last 12 months include enhanced duty of care features to the award-winning ATPI Traveller Tracking System™. Recognised in the UK as the winner of the GTMC Travelport Innovation Award, the upgraded tool enables businesses to track and monitor crews’ whereabouts and communicate with them instantly in the case of an emergency. It provides peace of mind for both travel managers and travellers by facilitating risk management with access to data on risk levels in destinations across the globe.
The theme of digital transformation was also brought to life in practical sessions at 2018’s CrewConnect Global Conference in Manilla. Ali Hussain, chief innovation and technology officer for the ATPI Group, shared expertise on how technology is bringing positive changes to crewing and recruitment in the marine industry. The ongoing investment into upgrades of ATPI CrewLink™, its travel workflow management tool, is testament to ATPI’s commitment to developing technology to meet the demands of the shipping and energy industry. The tool has successfully been integrated with leading crew management systems including Adonis Personnel Manager.
As well as developments in technology and innovation, Judy ‘JP’ Peplinski was appointed global head of energy at ATPI earlier in the year to support the company’s market plans for growth in the sector. Based in Houston, Texas, she is responsible for delivering strategy and solutions for the energy sector and expanding the division’s global client portfolio.
Further team expansion saw six new network partners across Europe, the Middle East, South America and Africa also strengthen the on-the-ground local expertise of ATPI Griffinstone in several strategically important locations. The new partners, based in Oman, Turkey, Argentina, Israel and Kenya, have local offices in key cities to enhance ATPI Griffinstone’s presence around the world.
The business also celebrated the addition of new prestigious clients across the marine and energy industries during 2018, including global geo data specialist Fugro who selected ATPI Griffinstone for its sector expertise.
As an integral part of the shipping community, ATPI Griffinstone has announced its partnership with the bi-annual London International Shipping Week (LISW) 2019. The celebratory opening of trading on the London Stock Exchange, alongside other global shipping leaders, hold additional poignance for ATPI Griffinstone as the business marks its centenary.
Offering expertise to the marine and energy sectors since 1919, ATPI Griffinstone will mark its strong heritage throughout 2019 with new developments that look forward to the future.
Nikos Gazelidis, Global Head of Shipping, ATPI Griffinstone comments:
