New Technologies Deliver a Successful Year for ATPI Griffinstone
Published on 2018-01-11 ATPI Griffinstone, part of the leading travel management and events business the ATPI Group, is celebrating a year of innovation that saw new technology dominate development.
Three years since the ATPI Group acquired Griffin Travel to form ATPI Griffinstone, the global shipping and energy travel specialist’s technology investments have seen clients reduce costs and improve efficiencies, through the launch of new tools which have delivered greater insight into crew travel operations and spend.
ATPI Griffinstone has developed its ATPI CrewLink™ workflow management platform to deliver more streamlined crew planning and management capabilities. The enhanced technology, designed to sit between ATPI Griffinstone and a shipping or energy company’s HR or Crew Planning system, seamlessly integrates the complex data involved with tracking their global travel.
As a result of the upgrade, the platform now incorporates CrewScheduler, an automatic HR feed for crew rosters, managing all elements of the travel process from flights requests and hotel bookings to visas and travel policy integration, and provides a complete audit trail and simple reporting process.
Also new in 2017 ATPI Griffinstone went on to integrate a new ‘total cost of port call’ feature to its Door to Deck service to offer greater support to shipping and energy clients transferring crew and rig personnel to and from the destination port or heliport. By consolidating travel data into one single platform, worldwide shipping companies have been able to enjoy greater analysis and visibility of costs. This includes port area costs such as transfers, accommodation, local currency and customs regulations and seafarer costs (ground transportation and accommodation, for example). As a result they are then able to understand the full scope of travel spend more efficiently and identify where savings can be made to develop even more efficient travel programmes.
The new ‘total cost of port call’ feature was a highlight of ATPI Griffinstone’s attendance at the annual CrewConnect Global conference. As the official travel sponsor of the event, ATPI Griffinstone also led demonstrations of its innovative new services during popular networking events and seminars at the ATPI Arms.
Technology and innovation were firmly on the agenda of the bi-annual London International Shipping Week (LISW), co-sponsored by ATPI Griffinstone. In celebration, government officials, dignitaries and global shipping leaders gathered together to open trading on the official London Stock Exchange. As one of the highlights of the annual shipping and energy calendar, the well-attended ceremony marked the start of a week-long schedule of events and presented ATPI Griffinstone as one of the industry leaders.
Nikos Gazelidis, Global Head of Shipping, ATPI Griffinstone comments:
“2017 has proved another high profile year for us and our focus on working closely with businesses across the energy and marine sectors has definitely been at the heart of our success over the last three years. By understanding their priorities as well as their key challenges, we have been able to develop two industry-leading technology tools that have proved invaluable for companies keen to better manage their operations whilst boosting policy compliance.”
Pieter Rieder, Head of Energy Sales, ATPI Griffinstone adds:
“The safe transportation of personnel is absolutely essential for those in the energy and offshore sector. This has been one of the main drivers behind the development of ATPI Traveller Tracking SystemTM, which enables companies to search and track the whereabouts of their travellers and communicate with them if emergencies require. As the industry experiences a discernible uplift in travel spend after a challenging period, we believe businesses now have all the tools they need to streamline their travel management, maximise efficiencies and enjoy greater clarity on their travel spend as we look ahead to the new year.”
