20 February 2019, Manila: Global travel and events management business, the ATPI Group, has appointed Ms. Yvette Araullo as managing director of its Philippines business. Ms. Araullo will take the helm from the beginning of May 2019.

The new appointment follows the announcement that Mariecar Han – managing director of ATPI in the Philippines since 1996 – will retire at the end of April.

Currently working as sales manager for ATPI in the Philippines, Ms. Araullo has been part of the ATPI Philippines management team for the last eight years. Working side-by-side with Mariecar Han, she brings extensive travel management expertise to the role having held positions across other Travel Management Companies (TMCs) in the Philippines throughout her career. Ms. Araullo will report to Mr. Ali Hussain, chief innovation and technology officer, and regional managing director for Asia.

Overseeing a team of 100 people, Ms. Araullo will lead one of ATPI’s largest regional teams. The Manila based Philippines operation of ATPI oversees some of the most complex travel requirements in the world, providing expertise and value to marine based businesses in particular. As well as specialism in offshore travel, the ATPI Philippines office also delivers corporate travel management to some of the world’s leading companies.

Until the end of April Ms. Araullo will work alongside Mariecar Han as managing director designate as Ms. Han supports ATPI in the transition towards her retirement. Under Ms. Han’s leadership, the ATPI Philippines business has increased ten-fold in the last 20 years. As one of the most respected leaders in the marine and corporate travel sectors, Mariecar Han was instrumental in industry developments such as the introduction of marine fares.

Andrew Waller, CEO, ATPI, comments:

“On behalf of the entire ATPI family I’d like to thank Mariecar Han for her years of dedication and enthusiasm. Mariecar’s distinguished career has seen her lead ATPI in the Philippines to great success. We are hugely thankful and wish her a very happy, well-earned retirement. Mariecar’s legacy of knowledge and commitment continues in the appointment of Yvette Araullo. Congratulations to Yvette on her promotion and we look forward to working with her in 2019 and beyond as we build on the incredible platform Mariecar has delivered for our business.”
