The ATPI Group has partnered with Qantas to ensure travel consultants have access to the widest range of airfares, products and ancillary information following the introduction of the Qantas Channel. Coming into effect on 1 August 2019, the new agreement will allow ATPI to offer customers an extensive range of traditional Qantas fares, in addition to new content from the airline’s NDC-enabled Qantas Distribution Platform.
ATPI is working closely with its GDS and technology partners to ensure travel consultants are equipped with the latest booking options enabled by the Qantas Distribution Platform, to deliver more personalised experiences for customers that are not available via the current standard GDS booking systems. Travel consultants will gain access to tailored fares including additional price points beyond the fare classes supported by legacy GDS technology, richer product information, seamless seat and meal selection, and greater recognition of Frequent Flyer members.
Peter Muller, international board director and managing director, ATPI Australia, said:
“ATPI is proud to continue its long-standing relationship with Qantas and delighted to announce this partnership as the airline drives its digital strategy forward. Utilisation of the Qantas Channel, coupled with ATPI’s innovative technology and travel management expertise, will allow us to further improve the services we provide to our customers by offering the most comprehensive range of products available in the market.”
Commenting on the airline’s new distribution model, Qantas Chief Customer Officer Vanessa Hudson said the airline was pleased to be working with ATPI to make the Qantas Channel available to their agents globally.
“The digital environment has changed the way we need to work with our trade partners, and our new technology paired with this new Qantas Channel agreement will support us on the journey to delivering our vision for our mutual customers. We’re excited to continue to innovate with our trade partners and share in the benefits of this new technology.”
The Qantas Channel will come into effect on 1 August 2019.
