The new appointment is effective immediately and will see her expand her current role as managing director for the sports and corporate events business in the Netherlands and Canada.

The leading travel and events management business ATPI has appointed Helen van Berkel as global head of events. The new appointment is effective immediately and will see her expand her current role as managing director for the sports and corporate events business in the Netherlands and Canada. 

The appointment of Helen van Berkel underlines ATPI’s strategic focus on specialised lines of business. She will be responsible for developing a growth strategy across events for ATPI globally, and for supporting regions with the implementation of their events business. Van Berkel will also build on the opportunities of the new Direct ATPI Global Travel organisation.

Van Berkel will work alongside ATPI’s global commercial head of sports events Michiel Aulbers and chief commercial officer Gary Pearce.

ATPI’s corporate events and sports events divisions have seen strong growth in the last 12 months with a number of new business wins. Van Berkel brings over 10 years’ experience at the helm of ATPI Corporate Events and ATPI Sports Events and will lead the business into the next phase of its development with a focus on international expansion.
