Production Travel Consultant

An exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for travel, media and events, the role of Production Travel Consultant gives you the chance to deliver the very best results for a household name.

About the role:
Travel Production Consultant will be responsible for all research - predominantly flights and accommodation. This can range from seeking out places in remote areas in the UK to large group requests to Australia! The role will be a mixture of group related travel as well as transient bookings. 

As a consultant, as well as being an important part of the ATPI ITV Travel team, you will be expected to work in conjunction with the Production Travel Manager to take the production brief and research and then negotiate with suppliers, book and confirm the needs within agreed timescales whilst ensuring all invoices are accurate before completing the final production debrief. It’s important to understand that this role is more than “just booking travel”. It’s also about developing and maintaining a relationship with the brands to act as point of contact for them to escalate issues and concerns.

We’re looking for a person who takes an interest in media production and understands the impact travel has on the production of television. In this role you will understand how each brand works and what their specific priorities/requirements are, as each operates differently depending on what type of TV show they are making. Managing travel for TV production is similar to managing an event or project as all elements of the production are interconnected and our role is to ensure the travel portion is seamless for the production team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assists with all travel delivery elements utilising the ITV Travel team processes and procedures 
  • Take an active role in the end-to-end management of production travel by: researching, quoting, booking/confirming, contracting, rooming lists submissions, invoicing
  • Identify cost savings and commissionable rate opportunities whilst negotiating the rates and terms to ensure the best options are provided 
  • Be able to listen to the productions needs and concerns and think outside the box to provide solutions for your productions 
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by understanding production needs, whilst also being able to prioritise workload to ensure all productions are receiving the same level of service 
  • Ability to self-motivate and work alongside the Production Travel Manager to deliver results as a team 
  • Willingness to meet with production managers when required including the potential of  being on site

Skills & experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years travel industry experience within an operational role 
  • Galileo experience but is not essential  
  • Any experience with Google documents would be an asset but is not essential
  • Experience of working under pressure 
  • Highly organised, focused attention to detail and quality orientation
  • Fully conversant in MS Excel
  • Self-confident with the ability to inspire confidence in others
  • Relates well to all levels of personnel both inside and outside the organisation
  • Proven evidence that builds rapport easily, builds constructive and effective relations, and can use diplomacy and tact 
  • A good problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude
