"Travel tracking tools have a number of commercial benefits in addition to their key role in emergency situations," says Gary Hance, Director of Technology for leading travel management company ATP.

ATP has developed a new Traveller Tracking System that allows clients to track where employees are at any one time and also to check where people are scheduled to travel to in the future. One key commercial benefit is that company insurance premiums can be affected positively if clients are able to prove to their insurer that they can track their employees accurately at all points on the globe.

"Traveller Tracking is obviously an excellent tool for keeping tabs on employees in an emergency situation such as an earthquake or terrorist attack but it has commercial benefits that could ultimately reduce clients' costs," confirms Gary.

"For example a company may need to transport tender documents or other urgent material to a remote office. If they can tell from the system that they have an employee - perhaps from a different branch or division - travelling to that destination, they can improve reliability and perhaps lower cost by utilising that booking."

The system allows users to select to view all travellers in a specific city or country; all travellers on a specific airline or flight number and to check planned arrival and departure dates. ATP Traveller Tracking also has the ability to customise travel intelligence to company policy, security risks and health related issues to specific countries so that companies can brief employees on potential risks before they travel.

ATP CEO Graham Ramsey added "Developing our own proprietary technology has always been a key element in our business strategy. It is very satisfying to be able to add further value to our clients through this latest innovation."

"We are particularly impressed by your use of technology to deliver clear savings and we feel ATP share our values relating to our customers."
