ATP - Focus On The Paris Office
Just a few kilometres away from the heart of the business district, near the famous racecourses of St-Cloud and Longchamp, you will find the offices of MTV - ATP's headquarters in Paris. When ATP announced plans to acquire MTV in June last year the news was received with excitement and enthusiasm by the company's 40 plus employees. In joining the ATP network MTV has further strengthened its position in the international arena. "We are now positioning ourselves as the global experts," says President of MTV Martine Lacombe. Our expertise in events and conferences combined with the strength of ATP offices in the UK, The Netherlands, Norway and the USA gives us a real edge over our competitors."

Opportunity MTV was formed in August 1991 by Martine, then a conference buyer for a large pharmaceutical manufacturer. Having worked in the industry for a number of years she saw an opportunity to do things better and formed her own conference and events agency promising to deliver a different type of service. Director Jean-Louis Lacombe worked for the same pharmaceutical company although he had left two years before Martine joined. Working in the same industry their paths were destined to meet early on in their careers. Jean-Louis joined up with Martine in 1993 when he bought a travel agency business. It is a partnership that continues to flourish both on a business and personal level.

Specialisation Three separate companies now sit together under the ATP/MTV umbrella. "We found that some of our clients wanted to use all our services whilst others wanted to use certain elements. Having three separate companies clients can choose the service that meets the specific needs of their business," says Martine. Comcydia is a creative events company developing innovative concepts for conventions, press conferences, concerts, employee seminars and other events. Its own in-house design studio ensures the theme of an event is carried through from concept to delivery.
Conference event organisation, Particip' Présent, handles all the logistical elements of staging a conference or event, whether for 10 or 10,000 people. Recently they have organised huge scale events such as the World Congress of Psychiatry in Paris and the World Congress on Neuro Surgery in Monaco. The company offers three levels of service so that clients can choose the option that meets their budgetary requirements.
The final part of the jigsaw is business travel agency e-Mission. The company offers a complete corporate travel service to businesses as well as arranging travel and accommodation requirements for Particip' Présent clients.

Synergy There are great synergies with ATP, not only in business travel but also in the conference industry. MTV's reputation as a conference organiser in the pharmaceutical industry is unsurpassed, working with some of the largest companies in the sector. It now also arranges conferences and events for a wide range of industries including fashion and automotive. ATP has shown its strength in the UK by organising its third successive ABTA Conference in Morocco last November, and in Holland organising the Congress of the International Environment Council as well as the global conference of ABN AMRO in 12 locations.

Midas touch The MTV team is currently working on a major convention for American-owned automotive company Midas. In January over 800 people will descend on Cannes from Belgium, France, Spain and America - a challenge the team relish with enthusiasm and creativity. "Midas has recently been taken over and this is the new management team's first opportunity to make a real impact on their business associates. We'll ensure it's a convention to remember." ATP/MTV are companies committed to the development of proprietary software to help them succeed in their marketplace. The company has developed its own proprietary software system 'Ulysse' to streamline the management of events and allow customers to follow the progress of their project in real time. "Wherever you are in the world you can access the system via the web to monitor the project."

Dedicated Stolt team With ATP winning the $20 million worldwide account for Stolt Offshore in August last year the Paris office is now home to a team of four dedicated consultants working alongside their ATP colleagues in Aberdeen and Stavanger.

Highest level of service "Our business is built on our knowledge, reputation and trust as well as the highest level of service. As our clients needs change we adapt our business accordingly. ATP share the same philosophy," says Jean-Louis. "Our partnership with ATP has created a lot of business potential for both companies with real advantages for all of our clients." At the end of the day, that's what a successful partnership is all about.
